OP Return to Harmony is a 2 week reconciliation expedition of up to 10 United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) personnel with OSI's, two doctors, three CVAF Staff, an interpreter, and cameraman (17 total) to revisit various peacekeeping locations around Bosnia and Croatia. A tour of duty in this region during the civil war changed many Veterans’ lives forever, so this tour represents the chance to go back and make peace with the residents and country that left such a big impact on many soldiers who served there. Most of Veterans of this conflict would agree that the beauty and history of this region was scarred by an ugly ethnic conflict, and have stated interest in returning to see these two countries to see how the recovery is coming along.
Places in Bosnia and Croatia like Visoko, Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, Bihać, Medak pocket, Kakma, Pristeg, Knin, Gracec, and many others will be on the itinerary. The chance to go back to this region is considered by us UNPROFOR Veterans as a chance of a lifetime to seek some closure on a difficult time of our lives.
During the serious nature of this tour will be several chances to partake and support local tourism activities in Bosnia and Croatia. Activities such as the popular white water rafting the Una and Neretva River which is the emerald gem of Herzegovina. In the upper canyon, you'll find some of the most beautiful rafting in Europe. The last  activity will be touring and sea kayaking along the Croatian Dubrovnik coast. The war affected areas are slowly recovering and tourism is becoming a main staple of the local economies. The aim of participating in the local tourism industry is to create a positive set of memories that can hopefully leave all of us going on this trip with a sense of peace and closure. This will be a huge international human interest media story, and will be filmed for a TV documentary during the expedition. We will be looking for sponsors to help finance this trip, so get in touch with us if you would like to help us make this amazing trip happen!

Stay tuned for more details...
